Funeral prayers for renowned singer Tariq Tafu were offered at a cemetery in Iqbal Town, Lahore, with members of the entertainment industry, fellow singers and a large number of citizens in attendance.
Actor Firdous Jamal, singer Sahir Ali Bagga, Malkoo, Abbas Jutt and other artists attended the funeral prayers. The funeral procession of the late singer departed from his residence near Shah Noor Studios before he was laid to rest in the presence of mourners.

Tariq Tafu contributed several popular songs to Pakistan’s music industry in addition to his well-known hit, ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’.
Singer won renown for Punjabi humor, heartfelt songs
He earned recognition for blending Punjabi humour and bhangra rhythms in songs such as ‘Miss Call Mar Gayi’, while also recording emotional and meaningful tracks, including ‘Maapian Di Shan’, which paid tribute to parents and their sacrifices.
The singer passed away in Lahore at the age of 58 after suffering a cardiac arrest. According to his family, his health deteriorated suddenly and he was taken to a local hospital, where he died during treatment.
He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.
Tariq Tafu gained nationwide fame through his signature song ‘Lahore Lahore Aye’, which became closely associated with his name and secured his place in Pakistan’s music industry.
