Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong warning to India, saying Pakistan’s armed forces are ready to respond to any aggression at any time.
Speaking to media outside the Parliament House Islamabad, he also raised concerns over regional security, proxies in Afghanistan, and alleged foreign-funded activities.
Khawaja Asif stated that if India attempts any “adventure” again, it will receive a strong and “befitting response.”
He said Pakistan’s armed forces remain on high alert and fully prepared to counter any form of aggression without delay.
The defense minister added that India would remember past defeats for a long time, referring to previous military confrontations.
The defense minister said Pakistan would take “appropriate arrangements” against what he described as India’s proxies operating in Afghanistan.
He also claimed that individuals based in the United Kingdom were funding such networks, further escalating concerns about external involvement in regional instability.
According to him, these activities were part of a broader effort to create unrest against Pakistan.
Khawaja Asif said the language being promoted in Azad Kashmir was not representative of Pakistanis or Kashmiris but influenced from India.
He alleged that certain narratives were being pushed through external funding and media influence.
He also said that some groups were insulting the national flag and working against national interests.
Strong stance on water and national security
The Defence Minister warned that Pakistan would respond firmly to any “water aggression.”
He said, “No one will be allowed to take even a drop of Pakistan’s water,” emphasizing that protective arrangements were being made in this regard.
Comments on occupied Kashmir
Khawaja Asif also referred to ongoing conditions in occupied Kashmir, saying women were facing oppression and imprisonment.
He added that Kashmiris had made sacrifices and were paying a heavy price for their association with Pakistan.
The Defence Minister further claimed that a military episode referred to as “Operation Banyan Marsus” would be remembered for years in regional history.
He also mentioned that India’s actions in Afghanistan had become part of historical record.
On diplomatic matters, he said he would not comment on a planned event in Switzerland.
He also briefly stated that the “Iran deal has been settled,” without giving further details.
