Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reached the Iranian city of Mashhad, according to Iranian media reports.
During his visit, Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, as per the reports. He will also hold talks with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
During his visit, Naqvi is expected to visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza during his stay in Mashhad.
The interior minister will congratulate Iranian officials on the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US and discuss the next phase of the process, according to Iranian media.
The visit comes as Pakistan continues its diplomatic engagement around ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Meetings with Iranian leadership
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Pakistan’s interior minister is due to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Saturday.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also confirmed that Mohsin Naqvi will meet his Iranian counterpart, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
These meetings are expected to focus on Islamabad’s ongoing efforts linked to Iran-US negotiations and broader regional diplomacy.
