United States President Donald Trump has criticised the Democrats over the Iran war, saying the conflict has severely weakened Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran no longer possesses an effective air force, navy, air defence equipment or radar systems, and claimed the country has little military capability remaining.
He also criticised Democrats who, according to him, argue that Iran is in a better position than it was four months ago.
"Can you imagine getting away with that? How stupid can some people be?" Trump wrote on the social media platform.
Trump said the United States had not rushed into negotiations and that it was Iran that had sought urgency in the talks.
"We will complete the 60 days. They will not receive any money," he said.

Meanwhile, President Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian electronically signed a 14-point memorandum of understanding on Wednesday evening aimed at ending the conflict that began on February 28 between the United States, Israel and Iran.
Under the memorandum, Washington and Tehran are expected to hold negotiations for 60 days, with the possibility of an extension, in an effort to reach a final agreement on Iran's nuclear programme and international sanctions.
According to Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who also signed the document as mediator, Iran will immediately reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, while the United States will lift its naval blockade under the terms of the agreement.
