Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to undertake an official visit to Saudi Arabia later this month, with preparations for the trip currently underway, according to sources.
Sources said the Prime Minister’s Office is finalising the schedule for the visit, which is expected to include high-level meetings with the Saudi leadership.
Focus on bilateral cooperation
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to hold discussions with senior Saudi officials on a range of issues of mutual interest.
Sources said the talks will focus on strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, particularly in the areas of economic cooperation, investment, and defence collaboration.
The two sides are also expected to exchange views on regional and international developments, as well as matters affecting the broader Muslim world.
Economic and defence ties on agenda
According to sources, promoting economic partnerships and enhancing defence cooperation will be among the key items on the agenda.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have maintained close diplomatic, economic and strategic ties for decades, with both countries regularly engaging on issues related to trade, investment, energy and security.
The upcoming visit is expected to provide an opportunity to further expand cooperation and review progress on existing bilateral initiatives.
