Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said in a written message on Thursday that Iran’s enemies had been defeated on the battlefield and were now shifting tactics to undermine internal stability.
The message was read during ceremonies marking the anniversary of the death of Islamic Republic founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, as well as a major Shi’ite religious occasion.
Khamenei said Iran’s adversaries, after failing militarily, were now attempting to harm the country by creating internal divisions and spreading despair among the population.
He described such efforts as part of what he called “hybrid warfare,” aimed at weakening national resilience rather than direct confrontation.
Warning against internal division
The Iranian leader stressed that any action leading to public frustration, pessimism, or hopelessness effectively serves the interests of Iran’s enemies.
He called for unity among citizens, urging restraint in speech and behavior that could deepen internal divisions during a sensitive period.
Khamenei claimed that powerful countries were unable to stop Iran’s progress and accused the United States of playing a destabilizing role in the region.
He also described Israel as being supported by a U.S. military presence in the region, reiterating Iran’s long-standing position toward the state.
The message reaffirmed that Iran’s stance on Israel remains unchanged, signaling continuity in Tehran’s foreign policy approach despite regional tensions.
