The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has accused Iran of carrying out what it called “ongoing aggression” against member states Bahrain and Kuwait, describing the reported attacks as a “dangerous and unprecedented escalation.”
In a statement, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned what he termed “cowardly attacks on civilian objects,” saying they posed a direct challenge to the security and stability of Gulf nations.
GCC accuses Iran of hostile policies
Albudaiwi said the alleged attacks reflected what he described as the Iranian regime’s continued pursuit of hostile policies targeting the sovereignty and security of GCC member states.
According to the statement, the actions demonstrate Tehran’s persistence in policies that Gulf countries have repeatedly rejected, raising concerns about regional security.
Call for international action
The GCC said the reported attacks violate international law, the United Nations Charter, and internationally accepted norms.
The bloc stressed that the situation requires a firm international response to halt what it described as dangerous and aggressive practices, warning that continued violations could further destabilize the region.
Albudaiwi emphasized that the security of Bahrain and Kuwait is inseparable from the security of all GCC member states.
He reiterated that Gulf nations stand united in confronting such threats and fully support any measures taken by Bahrain and Kuwait to protect their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
