Saudi Arabia has opened visa applications for the new Umrah season from Sunday, Dhul Hijjah 14, 1447, corresponding to May 31, 2026, marking the start of preparations for the 1448 AH season.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said international pilgrims will be able to enter Makkah and obtain Umrah permits through the Nusuk application beginning Monday, June 1.
Saudi Arabia began issuing Umrah visas and allowing the entry of pilgrims into the Kingdom from Sunday, May 31. The announcement comes after the conclusion of this year’s Hajj and marks the formal launch of the new Umrah season.
According to the Umrah season calendar for 1448 AH, recently released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the visa issuance and arrival process for international pilgrims will continue until March 23, 2027.
Pilgrims can use Nusuk app for permits
The ministry said pilgrims will be permitted to enter Makkah and obtain Umrah permits through the government’s Nusuk application from Monday, June 1.
The Nusuk platform serves as Saudi Arabia’s unified digital gateway for pilgrimage services, including permits, bookings and other Umrah-related services.
In recent years, the Kingdom has accelerated the digital transformation of Umrah services through Nusuk, introducing electronic permits, automated contracting procedures and QR code verification systems.
Key Umrah season dates announced
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed the full schedule for the new Umrah season.
Shawwal 1, 1448, corresponding to March 9, 2027, will be the final date for issuing Umrah visas.
Shawwal 15, 1448, corresponding to March 23, 2027, will be the final date for Umrah pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia.
The ministry said Shawwal 30, 1448, corresponding to April 7, 2027, will be the final date for all Umrah pilgrims to depart the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah called on Umrah service providers and overseas agents to strictly follow the approved calendar. It also urged them to comply with all regulations and instructions issued by the ministry.
The ministry said these measures are aimed at ensuring high-quality services for pilgrims throughout the season.
Saudi Arabia seeks smoother pilgrim experience
The new Umrah calendar is part of the ministry’s wider efforts to improve operational efficiency and raise the readiness of the Umrah ecosystem.
Officials said the goal is to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims from the moment of visa issuance to arrival, worship and departure.
Saudi Arabia is also expanding transport and hospitality infrastructure as part of its Vision 2030 plan, which aims to accommodate growing numbers of pilgrims.
