US President Donald Trump has claimed that he held separate calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives linked to Hezbollah regarding a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Israel or Hezbollah regarding any such discussions or agreements.
Trump describes “productive” call With Netanyahu
Speaking on the matter, Trump said he had a “very productive” call with Netanyahu, during which he discussed the situation in Lebanon and ongoing regional tensions.
He claimed that the outcome of the conversation included assurances that no Israeli troops would be sent toward Beirut.
According to his remarks, any troops reportedly heading in that direction were already turned back.
Claims of communication with Hezbollah representatives
Trump further stated that he had a separate conversation with Hezbollah through what he described as “highly placed representatives.”
He claimed that the group agreed to halt all firing and that both sides — Israel and Hezbollah — would stop attacks against each other.
These statements have not been independently verified, and no formal response has been issued by either Israel or Hezbollah at the time of reporting.
No official confirmation
Despite Trump’s claims of a breakthrough, neither Israeli authorities nor Hezbollah officials have commented publicly on any ceasefire agreement or direct communication.
