The negotiators from the United States and Iran have agreed to a 60-day extension in the ceasefire, according to American media reports.
The White House confirmed progress on the agreement between negotiators, US broadcaster CBS reported. US President Donald Trump is receiving more briefings on the details of the proposed arrangement.
US news website Axios reported that final approval from President Trump is still pending. The reports said talks on Iran’s nuclear dispute would continue during the 60-day ceasefire period. Arab media claimed the agreement would consist of two phases.
According to Al Arabiya, Iran would clear all naval mines from the Strait of Hormuz. It reported that a memorandum of understanding would be signed in Islamabad.
