The White House has rejected details released by Iranian state media regarding a proposed memorandum of understanding, terming the claims as fabricated.
According to details, the White House said in a response issued from Washington that the information circulated by Iranian state media was inaccurate and not based on facts.
The White House stated that the claims contained in the Iranian media report did not reflect the present situation or the ongoing negotiations. However, American officials did not issue more details on the matter.
It is pertinent to note that Iranian state media had released preliminary details of the proposed agreement, claiming that US forces would withdraw from areas surrounding Iran, while the US Navy would end the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian media further claimed that Tehran would restore the movement of commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz within one month, while naval activity would return to pre-war conditions.
The report added that military naval vessels would not be included in the proposed agreement, while arrangements for maritime routes and passages in the Strait of Hormuz would be managed by Iran with the cooperation of Oman.
According to Iranian state media, if an agreement is reached within 60 days, it would be presented before the United Nations Security Council in the form of a binding resolution.
