Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, where the two leaders discussed Pakistan-China relations, regional peace efforts and the future of bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and other members of the Pakistani delegation were also present during the meeting.
The Chinese president conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan through Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He also welcomed Field Marshal Asim Munir on his arrival in China and noted that he had returned from Iran.
Xi praised Pakistan’s constructive role and mediation efforts for peace. He said Pakistan’s positive efforts and mediation measures were commendable, particularly in the context of regional peace initiatives.
Xi Jinping said Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations 75 years ago and, since then, both countries have understood, trusted and supported each other.
He said an invincible and unbreakable friendship has been established between the two countries.
Strategic trust remains central
The Chinese president said strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation have played an important role in bilateral development. He added that despite the changing global situation, relations with Pakistan remain China’s priority.

President Xi said the friendship between Pakistan and China is moving forward from generation to generation.
He added that both countries are preparing to build a strong and shared future, stressing that the partnership must be further promoted for the benefit of the people of both countries.
Shehbaz highlights Hangzhou engagements
Prime Minister Sharif, in his remarks, mentioned his engagements in Hangzhou and praised China’s development. He said the development of Hangzhou reflects President Xi Jinping’s vision and dynamic leadership.
Shehbaz said the everlasting friendship between Pakistan and China goes back to the founding leaders of both countries. He said relentless efforts have been made for more than seven decades to strengthen bilateral relations, adding that Pakistan will continue working to make these ties stronger.
The prime minister said Pakistan has prepared a year-long plan to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations with China. He said Pakistan’s unwavering commitment will further strengthen Pakistan-China relations.
China called global power under Xi
Prime Minister Shehbaz said Pakistan and China are bound by an iron brotherhood and a unique relationship.
He said China, under President Xi Jinping’s leadership, has become a global economic and military power and continues to play an important role in global development and peace.

The prime minister said the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor are projects of prosperity, development and friendship. He also recalled attending China’s military parade last year on a special invitation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said there is no way to earn a place in people’s hearts without selfless hard work and continuous struggle. He reaffirmed that Pakistan and China will continue to strengthen their historic partnership for the benefit of both nations.
