China has issued a strong statement on the ongoing regional conflict, saying the war involving Iran “should never have happened” and warning against any further escalation in the Middle East.
During a news briefing, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said there was no justification for continuing the conflict and urged all sides to return to diplomacy.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that the door to direct talks between Tehran and Washington should not be closed again. Beijing called for immediate efforts to stabilize diplomatic communication channels and reduce tensions in the region.
China said it is ready to play a constructive role in facilitating negotiations and helping achieve lasting peace. The ministry reiterated Beijing’s willingness to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the crisis and restoring regional stability.

Strait of Hormuz reopening emphasized
The Chinese Foreign Ministry also highlighted the growing economic impact of the conflict, particularly on global trade and energy routes.
Officials stressed that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz should be restored as soon as possible to stabilize international supply chains and shipping activity.
According to the ministry, the ongoing hostilities are affecting global commerce and increasing pressure on international markets. China urged the international community to act swiftly to restore safe navigation and reduce disruption to worldwide trade flows.
