Foreign ministers of Pakistan and other Islamic countries have strongly condemned the opening of the so-called Somaliland embassy in occupied Jerusalem.
In a joint statement, the Islamic countries, including Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Türkiye, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan and Yemen, denounced the opening of the so-called Somaliland embassy in occupied Jerusalem.
The statement said the so-called Somaliland embassy in occupied Jerusalem was a clear violation of international law. It added that the move also violated international resolutions.
The joint declaration said unilateral attempts to alter the legal and historical status of Jerusalem were rejected, adding that East Jerusalem had remained occupied Palestinian territory since 1967.
According to the statement, all measures aimed at changing the status of East Jerusalem were null and illegal. It said no action taken in violation of international law and United Nations resolutions would be recognised. The declaration described the move as a direct attack on the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem.
