Qatar has expressed strong support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran.
The development came during a phone call between Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders discussed recent regional developments and diplomatic efforts focused on reducing escalation.
The conversation also covered Pakistan’s role in mediation initiatives aimed at promoting regional security and stability.
Qatar praises Pakistan’s diplomatic role
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in supporting dialogue and de-escalation.
He also acknowledged the role played by all parties contributing to the ceasefire and diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.
During the discussion, Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s “full support” for Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at resolving the crisis through peaceful means.
He emphasized the importance of all sides responding positively to diplomatic initiatives in order to create conditions for further negotiations and long-term regional stability.
The Qatari leadership also stressed the need for a comprehensive agreement capable of ensuring sustainable peace in the region.
