Chief of Iran’s unified military command Ali Abdollahi briefed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the country’s defence preparedness during a meeting in Tehran.
According to Iranian media, the supreme leader also issued fresh guidance and instructions to the military leadership. Ali Abdollahi said Iranian armed forces were fully prepared to confront any possible action by the United States and Israel.
He warned that any miscalculation by the enemy would draw a swift, severe and decisive response from Iran.
A news agency report said no further details were released about when the meeting took place.
