Citizens, traders, students and political workers paid tribute to the Pakistan Army through rallies, conferences and public gatherings in several cities.
Rallies, ceremonies and public gatherings were held in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and several other cities across the country to mark the first anniversary of ‘Marka-e-Haq’, as citizens paid tribute to the Pakistan Army. The main ceremony is scheduled to take place at GHQ Rawalpindi on Sunday morning.
In Lahore, a ‘Marka-e-Haq Youm-e-Tashakkur’ conference was held at Naulakha Church. Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad addressed the gathering and said celebrations of ‘Marka-e-Haq Bunyan-un-Marsoos’ were being held throughout the country. He said India had levelled false allegations against Pakistan and launched aggression, adding that the enemy had received a strong response under the leadership of the Field Marshal.
A ‘Marka-e-Haq Caravan Rally’ organised by Pakistan Markazi Muslim League was also held in Lahore. A large number of party workers joined the rally, which started from Nasir Bagh and concluded at Charing Cross.
In Gujrat, PML-Q MNA Chaudhry Hussain Elahi, along with a delegation, visited the graves of four civilians martyred during Indian drone attacks in border areas. Flowers were laid at the graves and prayers were offered for the deceased.
In Karachi, Pakistan Peoples Party workers completed preparations for celebrations at Sea View. Tight security arrangements were made for the event at Nishan-e-Pakistan. Party workers had started arriving ahead of the ceremony, which included music, fireworks, laser light displays and other programmes. Separate seating arrangements were made for women.
In Khairpur, prisoners at the Central Jail marked the occasion by celebrating what speakers described as a strong response to India. In Hyderabad, a ceremony was held at Police Headquarters, where students presented tableaux to honour national heroes.
In Rawalpindi, traders from the cantonment area held a rally from Mall Road to Bank Road Hospital. Participants carrying national flags chanted slogans in favour of the Pakistan Army and the Field Marshal. Another rally organised by Tanzeem Tajran Rawalpindi concluded at Chandni Chowk, where participants praised the armed forces for their response to India.
A separate traders’ rally led by trader leader Sharjeel Memon started from Liaquat Bagh and ended at Chandni Chowk on Murree Road. A large number of traders carrying national flags joined the procession.
In Hasan Abdal, a rally led by the Assistant Commissioner was joined by members of minority communities, students, Rescue officials and representatives of other institutions. Participants raised slogans in support of the Pakistan Army. The Assistant Commissioner said the morale of the Pakistani nation remained high and the country’s defence was in strong hands.
In Shakargarh, the district administration organised a rally regarding Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Mian Anan. Students, district officials and citizens participated in large numbers and raised slogans to express solidarity with the armed forces.
Participants said the rally aimed to promote national unity and express support for the Pakistan Army.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district, rallies were also held to mark the occasion. In Muzaffarabad’s Azadi Chowk, slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Paindabad” echoed through the area. Celebrations were also held in Mirpur, Bhimber and other cities of Azad Kashmir.
In Sahiwal, a bike rally was organised to express solidarity with the Pakistan Army on the first anniversary of victory in ‘Marka-e-Haq’. Led by the Deputy Commissioner, the rally moved from District Council Hall to High Street. Participants carrying national flags chanted slogans in support of the armed forces.
Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq said success in ‘Marka-e-Haq’ reflected the professional capabilities of the security forces, while DPO Usman Tipu said the people and security institutions of Pakistan stood united against hostile elements.
In Narowal, a bike rally was held under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Syed Waseem Abbas to mark one year of ‘Marka-e-Haq Bunyan-un-Marsoos’. He said the Pakistani nation could never forget its martyrs. Special prayers were offered for the country’s development, prosperity and security.
In Tando Muhammad Khan, district police officials presented a salute to the martyrs at the District Police Headquarters. Police personnel later held a march and rally to the Press Club. A large number of male and female officers participated, chanting slogans in support of the Pakistan Army.
DSP Shakeel Ahmed Solangi and several SHOs also joined the rally. Participants said the police stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces.
In Sukkur, traders led by Small Traders President Javed Memon held a rally from Sarafa Bazaar. Participants carrying national flags raised slogans of “Pakistan Paindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad”. Javed Memon said the Pakistan Army had thwarted India’s alleged designs and raised the country’s stature internationally.
In Chaghi, PML-N organised a ‘Marka-e-Haq Car Rally’ in Yakmach tehsil. Participants marched through various roads before gathering at Yakmach Bazaar, where tribute was paid to the bravery of the Pakistan Army on completion of one year of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
Participants said they had full confidence in the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and that the nation stood united with the armed forces against any aggression.
