Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was still considering the proposals put forward by the United States, according to a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
The spokesman said Iran would soon inform the parties concerned of its position.
Separately, Araghchi held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The two ministers exchanged views on the situation in the region and reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East.
Earlier, Araghchi warned the United States against any new military misadventure and strongly condemned reported American actions in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement issued on social media on Friday, he said the United States repeatedly turned to unnecessary military adventurism whenever an opportunity for a diplomatic solution emerged.
Araghchi questioned whether such actions formed part of a pressure tactic or resulted from efforts aimed at drawing the US president into another conflict.
He said the outcome would remain the same regardless of Washington’s motives, adding that the Iranian people would never bow to pressure.
Meanwhile, Iranian and American forces again came face to face in the Strait of Hormuz. The US military claimed to have disabled two vessels, while two more ships were stopped in the Gulf of Oman for allegedly attempting to break a blockade. Iranian state media confirmed the clashes.
