Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States against any new military misadventure and strongly condemned reported American actions in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement issued on social media on Friday, Araghchi said the United States repeatedly turned towards unnecessary military adventurism whenever an opportunity for a diplomatic solution emerged.
He questioned whether such actions formed part of a pressure tactic or the result of efforts aimed at drawing the US president into another conflict.
Araghchi said the outcome remained the same regardless of the reasons behind Washington’s actions, adding that the Iranian people would never bow to pressure.
Referring to reports in the American media regarding Iran’s missile stockpiles, the Iranian foreign minister rejected claims of any reduction in military capability.
He said Iran’s missile reserves were not reduced to 75 per cent compared with February 28, but instead stood at 120 per cent.
Araghchi said Iran’s preparedness for the protection of its people remained “1,000 per cent”.
The statement came amid rising tensions in the region and continued diplomatic exchanges between Tehran and Washington.
