The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has scheduled the arrival of 19 vessels and the departure of one ship.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has said that the performance of Karachi Port as satisfactory, stating that the steady movement of ships is an indication of improvement in maritime trade.
Chaudhry has said that the increased commercial activity at Karachi Port is strengthening the logistics sector. In the past 24 hours, a total of 74,603 metric tonnes of cargo were handled.
The report stated that the highest volume comprised 45,171 tonnes of containerised cargo. Imports stood at 19,300 tonnes, while exports were recorded at 25,868 tonnes. Bulk cargo accounted for 11,944 tonnes, with clinker exports at 6,114 tonnes. Liquid cargo handling reached 10,352 tonnes.
