Saudi Arabia has introduced a major change in its Hajj policy, barring pilgrims under the age of 15 from performing Hajj.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, 70 pilgrims from Karachi will be affected by the decision, while full refunds have been assured to those impacted.
Under the new policy, pilgrims below the age of 15 will not be allowed to perform Hajj. The Pakistan Airports Authority said the decision has been issued for immediate implementation.
Ban to apply from May
According to the PAA, from May 2026, pilgrims under the age of 15 will not be allowed to travel on Hajj flights. Airports have been instructed to ensure that minor pilgrims do not board flights for Hajj.
The order has been issued as part of the immediate enforcement of the new Hajj-related age restriction.
The PAA said 70 pilgrims from Karachi will be affected by Saudi Arabia’s latest Hajj decision. Authorities have been directed to implement the restriction at airports before departure.
The move means affected families will not be able to proceed with Hajj travel if any pilgrim falls below the required age limit.
Visas for children under 3 cancelled
According to the PAA, Hajj visas issued to pilgrims under the age of 3 have been cancelled.
Officials said affected pilgrims will receive a full refund. The assurance is aimed at helping families impacted by the sudden change in Hajj travel eligibility.
Airport authorities have been instructed to prevent minor pilgrims from boarding Hajj flights. The restriction will be enforced immediately, with airlines and airport staff expected to follow the updated policy.
The PAA said the new rule is part of Saudi Arabia’s revised Hajj policy for pilgrims traveling from May 2026.
