Inflation in the country exceeded the Ministry of Finance’s estimate, with a notable rise recorded in April.
According to details surfaced on Friday, inflation rose by 2.48 per cent during April 2026, surpassing official projections.
In urban areas, inflation increased by 2.75 per cent, while in rural areas it rose by 2.09 per cent.
On a year-on-year basis, the inflation rate reached a double-digit level of 10.89 per cent in April.
The government had earlier projected inflation to remain between 8 and 9 per cent for the month.
From July to April, the average inflation rate stood at 6.19 per cent, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
