Actor Ameesha Patel has admitted she regrets turning down Salman Khan’s blockbuster film Tere Naam, saying she wishes she had been part of the 2003 romantic drama that later became a major box office success.
In a recent interview, Ameesha Patel reflected on missing the opportunity to star in Tere Naam opposite Salman Khan.
The actress said she liked the story but could not commit to the project as details had not been finalized when she was first approached.

Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha Patel openly shared her feelings about the missed opportunity.
“I wish I had done it,” she said, adding that at the time even the director was not finalized when Salman Khan first narrated the script to her.
She explained that scheduling issues and prior commitments forced her to step away from the project.
Why she couldn’t take the role
Ameesha revealed that the film’s production details were still uncertain when she was first offered the lead role.
By the time director Satish Kaushik joined the project, she had already signed another film and could not adjust her dates.
“If Salman had come earlier, I would have definitely tried to do it,” she added.
The role eventually went to Bhumika Chawla, who starred opposite Salman Khan in Tere Naam.
The film went on to become a major commercial success and remains one of Salman Khan’s most memorable performances.
