Two personnel of the Balochistan Police, including a female officer, were martyred and two others injured in an exchange of fire between police and armed men in Khuzdar district of Balochistan.
This marks the first time in the province’s history that a female police officer has been martyred in a terrorism-related incident.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Baghbana area of Bajoi, where an Additional SHO, along with a police team, conducted a raid following reports of solar panel theft. During the operation, armed suspects present in the area asked the police to surrender. Upon refusal, an exchange of fire erupted.
As a result, Lady Constable Malik Naz and Head Constable Samiullah were martyred. Police officials stated that Malik Naz is the first female police officer in Balochistan’s history to be martyred in a terrorism incident.
Additional SHO Muhammad Ibrahim and Constable Najeeb-ur-Rehman were injured in the incident and were immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Khuzdar.
Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
