US President Donald Trump has confirmed that his team will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow for negotiations with Iran.
In a message, the US president said that his representatives are heading to Islamabad for talks and will reach there by tomorrow evening. “We are presenting Iran with a fair and acceptable offer and hope they will accept our proposals,” he stated.
Trump wrote that if no agreement is reached, “we will destroy all power plants and bridges. If Iran does not accept the deal, they will be forced to surrender. The time has come to end Iran’s war.”
The US president said that if a deal is not reached, he will take steps that no president has taken in the past 47 years, adding that there will be no leniency now.
Trump further stated that Iran has decided to close the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a strange move. He claimed that the US is not suffering any losses and blamed Iran’s Revolutionary Guard for the situation. He added that due to US actions, the strait is already effectively closed, and that Iran is losing $500 million due to the port shutdown. “The time has come to end Iran’s killing machine,” he said.
Earlier, in a telephone interview with ABC News, he said Iran had committed a serious violation of the ceasefire. “We believe we are close to reaching a deal. An agreement with Iran will happen one way or another — either friendly or the hard way,” he added.
JD Vance will not be part of this round of negotiations.
In an interview with the New York Post, President Trump said the next round of talks with Iran will take place in Islamabad on Tuesday. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will participate in the talks, while JD Vance, who led earlier negotiations, will not be involved this time.
