Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said the global justice system has failed, adding that diplomacy remains the only path to resolve crises.
Addressing the opening session of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye, Erdogan said efforts would continue to secure peace in the region, adding that Israel has continued strikes on Gaza despite a ceasefire.
He said the Antalya Diplomacy Forum served as a platform to discuss the future of humanity, and reiterated that the international justice system had failed, as Palestinians were killed in Gaza even after a ceasefire.
The Turkish president also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, saying that his efforts had helped halt conflict in the region. He said the ceasefire should be regarded as an opportunity for peace, adding that Türkiye stands ready to play its part in regional stability.
Erdogan said no issue could be resolved through force, insisting that diplomacy, not the gun, offers a solution. He added that under no circumstances should the use of weapons be permitted, and that diplomacy remains the sole way to address the present global crisis.
He said the balance of power in the world is shifting, and that Gulf countries should not face restrictions on access to open seas.
