Iran's speaker thanks Pakistan, Asim Munir for Lebanon ceasefire

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf has reacted to the Lebanon ceasefire, crediting Hezbollah’s resistance while acknowledging Pakistan’s diplomatic role.

In a message posted on X, Ghalibaf said the ceasefire was the result of Hezbollah’s steadfastness and the unity of what he described as the “Axis of Resistance.”

He emphasized that the agreement was not a concession but a product of continued resistance on the ground.

The Iranian leader stressed the need for unity moving forward, stating that all sides must remain together until the “full realization of victory". He also noted that the ceasefire would be approached with caution, signaling concerns about its durability.

Pakistan’s mediation acknowledged

Ghalibaf thanked the state of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for their role in mediating and endorsing the ceasefire. His remarks highlight Pakistan’s involvement in diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions in the region.

The Iranian Parliament speaker concluded by reaffirming commitment to existing pledges, stating that “we are true to our pledge.” His statement reflects Tehran’s stance on maintaining its position while navigating the post-ceasefire situation.

PM welcomes Lebanon ceasefire

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, calling it a positive step toward regional stability. He praised diplomatic efforts that led to the breakthrough.

In a message shared on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the ceasefire in Lebanon and expressed hope that it would pave the way for sustainable and lasting peace in the region.

He described the development as a significant diplomatic achievement at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East.

Praise for Trump's diplomatic efforts

The prime minister appreciated the role of Donald Trump, stating that the ceasefire was made possible due to his “bold and sagacious diplomacy.”

According to Shehbaz Sharif, President Trump’s courage and wise approach played a key role in bringing both sides toward a ceasefire agreement.
