White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that talks with Iran were proceeding in a positive manner, with the next round of negotiations likely to take place in Islamabad.
Speaking during a news briefing, she said that Pakistan remained the sole mediator in the dialogue with Iran. Leavitt said reports claiming that the United States had sought an extension of the ceasefire were incorrect. She stated that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz continued, with a complete restriction imposed on vessels departing from Iranian ports.
She said that Chinese President Xi had assured US President Donald Trump that China was not supplying weapons to Iran.
