Users across the United States reported widespread disruptions on Wednesday, affecting multiple online platforms. Among them, Claude AI faced a significant outage, leaving thousands unable to access key features.
The AI chatbot developed by Anthropic experienced a spike in outage reports on April 15, 2026.
According to Downdetector, over 7,000 users flagged problems with the platform as of 8:02 a.m. PT.
Users reported a range of issues, from login failures to disruptions in core chatbot functions.
Breakdown of reported problems
Data shows that nearly 44% of users experienced issues with Claude Code.
Around 19% reported being unable to access the app, while 26% faced problems using Claude Chat.
The outage appears to have impacted both access and functionality across the platform.
Claude addressed the situation, confirming that it is actively working to resolve the issue.
In a statement, the company said users already logged into Claude Code could still access it, but new logins were temporarily disrupted.
Recent outages raise concerns
The disruption comes just days after a previous major outage that affected users globally.
Repeated technical issues have raised concerns among users who rely on AI tools for daily tasks.
At the same time, users in the US reported outages across several major platforms.
These include Facebook, Yahoo, Yahoo Mail, Messenger, and Gemini.
It remains unclear whether these outages are connected or coincidental.
