United States Vice-President JD Vance has said that Donald Trump seeks a comprehensive agreement with Iran rather than a limited arrangement.
The vice-president offered Iran the prospect of economic development on the condition that it commits to not acquiring nuclear weapons. He said the ceasefire with Iran remains in place and negotiations are continuing.
Vance said significant progress has been made with Pakistan’s mediation, though mistrust cannot be removed overnight. He said it is a major development that, for the first time in 49 years, high-level direct talks are taking place with Tehran.
