Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he is ready to assist efforts aimed at securing peace in the Middle East.
According to Russian media, President Putin held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian. The two leaders discussed the United States-Iran talks held in Islamabad.
President Putin stated that Russia stands prepared to support peace initiatives in the Middle East. He emphasised that a diplomatic solution must be found to the regional conflict and said Moscow is ready to act as a mediator for the establishment of lasting peace.
