Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran’s fingers remain on the trigger and that the country will not leave the Lebanese people alone.
In his statement, the Iranian president described Israel’s incursion into Lebanon as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement. He warned that continued Israeli aggression would render negotiations meaningless, calling it a dangerous sign of deception and lack of seriousness towards potential agreements.
Separately, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated that the ceasefire proposals include Lebanon and the entire resistance axis. He warned that violations of the ceasefire would carry a heavy price and provoke a severe response.
Qalibaf noted that three key points of the ten-point proposals had already been violated even before talks began.
He added that there had been a drone incursion into Iranian airspace, Iran’s right to uranium enrichment had been denied, and the ceasefire had been violated in Lebanon.
Bagher Qalibaf concluded that, given the entire situation, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations are unreasonable.
