Pakistani cricketer Abrar Ahmed’s selection in the England-based cricket league, The Hundred, has reportedly drawn a strong reaction from Indian actress Ananya Panday.
Social media reports claim that Panday expressed her disapproval over Abrar Ahmed joining the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, allegedly announcing a boycott of the team and even breaking her Reliance Jio SIM card.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Ananya Panday regarding these claims.
Abrar Ahmed, a Pakistani spinner, has been signed by the Sunrisers Leeds team owned by Indian-origin businessman Kaviya Marn, which has sparked heated discussions across the border. Many Indian social media users and fans have reportedly expressed anger over the development.
According to media reports, The Hundred league is scheduled to take place from July 21 to August 16. To participate, Abrar Ahmed would require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board. Due to national commitments, there is a possibility that Abrar may not receive the NOC.
It is worth noting that Abrar Ahmed played his last Test match against the West Indies in January 2025.
