Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has officially retired from international cricket, ending a distinguished career spanning 54 Tests, 61 T20Is, and 117 ODIs.
During his career, Sarfaraz scored a total of 6,164 runs and captained Pakistan in 100 international matches. Under his leadership, Pakistan won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, and the national T20 team reached the world’s number one ranking.
He remains the only Pakistani captain to have won ICC titles at both junior and senior levels. In recognition of his achievements, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance in 2018.
Sarfaraz expressed gratitude, saying, “Representing Pakistan was the greatest honor of my life. Winning the U19 World Cup and the Champions Trophy are unforgettable moments.
He added: "I am thankful to my teammates, coaches, family, and fans for their support. Leading Pakistan across all formats was a dream come true. I always aimed to play fearless cricket and build a united team. PCB’s trust and support will always be remembered. Pakistan cricket will forever remain close to my heart, and I will continue to serve the sport.”
