WhatsApp may soon launch a new paid subscription service called WhatsApp Plus, which would give users access to additional customization tools and enhanced chat controls while keeping the core messaging service free.
The news was reported online by some social media agencies which track upcoming features in WhatsApp updates. According to the development, the social media hub is looking for ways to give users more control over the appearance and experience of the app without changing the free nature of its basic service.
A key feature of WhatsApp Plus is expected to be enhanced customization. Subscribers may have the option to change the app’s icon and select from a variety of new visual themes. Reports indicate that the service could include around 14 additional app icons and a wider range of color options, allowing users to personalize the look of their messaging interface.
The premium plan may also offer exclusive notification sounds and ringtones, giving subscribers even more ways to customize how they are alerted to incoming messages.
