Pakistan’s Security Forces successfully conducted intelligence-driven operations across five districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 13 terrorists affiliated with Indian-backed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna-ul-Khawarij, ISPR said on Sunday.
The operations form part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the federal plan “Azm-e-Istehkam.”
Bajaur district
In a high-intensity engagement, Security Forces targeted a terrorist hideout in Bajaur. After a heavy exchange of fire, five militants were killed. Weapons and ammunition were seized from the location.
Two separate encounters in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan resulted in the neutralization of three TTP militants. Security Forces emphasized that the slain terrorists were actively involved in multiple operations targeting civilians and military installations.
Khyber and South Waziristan districts
Simultaneous engagements in Khyber and South Waziristan saw five more militants killed. Security personnel recovered additional arms and ammunition from the slain terrorists.
The ISPR highlighted that these intelligence-based operations are crucial in addressing threats along Pakistan’s western borders. The campaign targets Indian-sponsored terrorist networks and aims to eliminate militants who destabilize local communities and threaten national security.
Security Forces remain committed to the full execution of the National Action Plan (NAP) vision, working alongside law enforcement agencies to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country. Sanitization operations continue to ensure no militant presence remains in these high-risk areas.
