Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stressed the need for restraint and an immediate reduction in tensions in the Middle East during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.
The British High Commissioner called on the deputy prime minister in Islamabad, where the two sides discussed Pakistan-United Kingdom bilateral relations and the latest situation in the region.
Dar emphasised that immediate de-escalation and restraint were essential to ensure peace and security in the region.
He also informed the British High Commissioner that, owing to the prevailing regional situation, he would not be able to attend the forthcoming Commonwealth Foreign Ministers’ meeting. Dar said that only a prompt reduction in tensions could help ensure stability and security across the region.
