Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met a delegation of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians to discuss the prevailing political situation in the country, legislation and serious tensions in the region.
The prime minister said the Pakistan Peoples Party remained an important ally of the government. He stated that the party had supported the government at every step in key decisions for national development and progress, and expressed gratitude for its cooperation.
According to sources, the PPP delegation conveyed its reservations regarding government legislation. The prime minister directed that the allied party be taken into confidence in the legislative process.
The PPP delegation comprised Senator Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar and Aijaz Jakhrani.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Adviser Rana Sanaullah also attended the meeting.
