In view of concerns relating to public safety, authorities have announced the closure of schools.
Additional Chief Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed said all public and private educational institutions in Gilgit and Skardu will remain closed tomorrow. All students, parents and relevant staff have been directed to comply with the issued instructions.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has imposed Section 144 across the province for seven days owing to possible terrorist threats and concerns over public order.
The Punjab Home Department issued an immediate notification banning gatherings, rallies and demonstrations. The department said intelligence reports indicate that sensitive assemblies may become targets of terrorism.
According to officials, precautionary measures were taken in light of fears of sectarian tension and disruption of public order. A ban has been placed on public gatherings of four or more persons across Punjab.
