In the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, South Africa inflicted a crushing defeat on India by 76 runs at the Ahmedabad Stadium.
Chasing a target of 188, the Indian cricket team were bowled out for 111. Ishan Kishan made nought, Tilak Varma one, Washington Sundar 11, Abhishek Sharma 15 and captain Suryakumar Yadav 18. Shivam Dube top-scored with 42.
For South Africa, Marco Jansen claimed four wickets, while Keshav Maharaj took three wickets in a single over. Jasprit Bumrah secured three wickets for India.
Earlier, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 187 for seven in their allotted 20 overs. David Miller struck 63 to lead the scoring. Dewald Brevis made 45, captain Aiden Markram four, Quinton de Kock six, Ryan Rickelton seven, Marco Jansen two and Corbin Bosch five.
Tristan Stubbs remained unbeaten on 44, while Kagiso Rabada was not out on nought.
