The Group Super Eight match between Pakistan and New Zealand was abandoned owing to persistent rain in Colombo on Saturday.
Both sides received one point each after play proved impossible in the opening fixture of the Super Eight stage.
Steady rainfall at the R Premadasa Stadium delayed the start and left officials with little choice but to call off proceedings. Drizzle began at the time of the toss and later intensified, resulting in overs being lost from 8:10pm IST. The cut-off time for a five-overs-per-side contest was 10:16pm IST, but conditions failed to improve.
Earlier, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and elected to bat. The side brought in Fakhar Zaman in place of Khawaja Nafay.
New Zealand made three changes, with skipper Mitchell Santner returning to the playing XI.
Pakistan will next face England on 24 February in their second Super Eight fixture.
Persistent showers throughout the evening left the ground unfit for play, bringing a damp end to the contest before a ball could be bowled.
