Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Thursday Pakistan’s foreign policy approach particularly its fight against terrorism is being widely acknowledged by the world.
He made these remarks while talking exclusively to Samaa TV where he stated that Afghanistan is exporting terrorism into Pakistan, while the international community is standing with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. The minister emphasized that Pakistan remains a frontline state in the global war against terrorism.
The defence minister said Pakistan’s armed forces have given the nation confidence through their victories, and stressed that both the civilian government and military leadership are working together to steer the country out of its current challenges.
He noted that Pakistan was once labelled as a country associated with terrorism, but is now being acknowledged and appreciated by the world in steadfast fight and resolve against extremism.
Highlighting improved civil-military relations, he said that such a significant level of coordination and cooperation between the civilian government and military leadership has not been seen before.
