SAMAA Digital highlighted its rigorous fact-checking measures during a workshop attended by y Jan Gerald Krausser - Head of Communications at the German Embassy.
The workshop focused on the importance of full verification before publishing news. SAMAA officials emphasized that providing accurate and reliable information to the public is their top priority, using clear and effective methods.
Jan Gerold appreciated the newsroom’s efforts, stating that independent, verified journalism forms the foundation of a strong democratic society.
Workshop on verification
Organized in collaboration with Media Matters for Democracy (MMfD), the workshop explored the growing challenge of fake news and strategies for digital verification. Asad Baig, founder of the organization, highlighted the rising trends of misinformation and the responsibilities journalists must uphold to maintain public trust.
General Manager Digital Media, Asim Siddique, along with his team, outlined how SAMAA carefully examines every stage of news production—from gathering and preparing news to promotion—through systematic and transparent processes.
The session also introduced an integrated system for verifying content, demonstrating SAMAA’s commitment to journalistic integrity and credibility.
