A comprehensive audit of the cyber security policy 2021 and related infrastructure has been approved to protect national security, sensitive state data, and critical information.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, key international standards will be incorporated. To address cyber threats and data theft in the era of artificial intelligence, the Ministry of IT has decided to conduct a full audit of Pakistan’s cyber security infrastructure.
Oversight of the National Cyber Security Policy 2021 will be implemented. A new cyber security framework will be established for the national system. An action plan will be prepared to improve Pakistan’s current ranking in the Global Cyber Security Index.
According to the Ministry of IT, the National Cyber Security Policy will undergo significant revisions in line with international standards. A detailed review of the existing cyber security infrastructure of public and private institutions, including the PECA Act and other cyber security regulations, will be undertaken.
A threat intelligence and response programme will be developed in accordance with artificial intelligence, blockchain, the dark web, and cloud technologies. A consultative framework for inter-agency cooperation on cyber security will be established.
The document said that international consulting firms are being engaged to assist with the comprehensive audit and improvement of the cyber security infrastructure.
