Adviser to the prime minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that the decision regarding Faiz Hameed is expected this December.
Speaking to the media, Senator Rana Sanaullah said that if the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister obstructed operations or facilitated terrorists, there would be no future for him. He added that if Sohail Afridi engages in politics within the limits of speeches, it should be permitted.
Sanaullah affirmed that former prime minister’s protocol entitles PTI founders to B-class facilities, adding that the meetings should not be prohibited within these limits. However, if meetings with PTI founders involve protests, anti-government movements, or facilitation of terrorism, they should not be allowed. He reiterated that no predictions should be made regarding Faiz Hameed’s sentence.
The adviser emphasised that the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) will become a highly sensitive institution of national security. Legislation has been amended for the office of the CDF, and regulations and rules are to be framed with great care.
He said that individuals spreading anti-Pakistan material abroad will be added to relevant lists. No law permits propaganda against national security from outside the country. "Should Sohail Afridi obstruct national security, his political future will be adversely affected," he added.
