The price of gold witnessed the third-largest drop in history in global and local gold markets.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold fell by a massive Rs9,100 per tola, bringing it down to Rs430,662.
In the local market, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs7,799, settling at Rs369,223. Similarly, 10 grams of 22-karat gold were sold at Rs338,466, down by a good Rs7,152 compared to the previous day.

On the international front, gold dropped by $91, reaching $4,083 per ounce, reflecting a consistent downward trend driven by strengthening global currencies and cautious investor sentiment.
Silver also declines
Silver prices also followed the same trend. The rate of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by Rs209 to be sold for Rs5,313, while 10 grams of silver were being sold for Rs4,555.
