Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Wana and Islamabad, calling them cowardly acts that have claimed 15 precious lives.
Addressing the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference in Islamabad, Dar said that terrorism is one of the major global challenges of the present time, and that Pakistan continues to play a leading role in combating this scourge.
“Terrorism knows no borders, religion, gender, nationality, or race. We strongly reject all types of terrorist acts -- whether they are in Islamabad, as happened yesterday, or anywhere else in the world,” he said.

Dar emphasized that these acts of violence cannot weaken Pakistan’s resolve. “Such cowardly acts cannot shake or weaken our national resolve,” he declared.
'Dialogue, partnership only sustainable path to peace'
Highlighting the importance of global cooperation, the deputy prime minister urged that dialogue, understanding, and partnership are the only sustainable routes toward achieving peace and security.
He said, “Peace, security, and development are possible only through dialogue and contacts between nations. The world is currently undergoing a process of change, and collective efforts are required to deal with the challenges of the present era.”
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to non-interference in international affairs and to resolving conflicts through dialogue and negotiations, reaffirming the country's consistent stance on global peace.
Promoting parliamentary diplomacy
Welcoming the participants of the conference, Ishaq Dar underscored the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy in the modern world. “Today, the importance of parliamentary diplomacy has increased. This conference will serve as a means of promoting parliamentary contacts,” he said.
He noted that parliamentary exchanges provide a valuable opportunity for sharing experiences related to governance and strengthening international cooperation. “The conference will protect Pakistan’s interests and also promote regional connectivity,” he added.

Dar also said that the theme of the conference -- peace, security, and development -- is highly relevant, given the global context. He stressed that global conflicts remain a major threat to peace, and that nations must foster contacts, equality, and dialogue at both regional and international levels.
'World needs peace and stability more than ever'
Calling for greater public participation in the global system, the deputy prime minister said that the world today is in dire need of peace, stability, and cooperation. “We must increase public participation in the global system,” Dar said, adding that parliamentary diplomacy plays a vital role in achieving these objectives.
He concluded his address by reaffirming Pakistan’s firm commitment to global peace and the eradication of terrorism, emphasizing that the country stands united in its fight against extremism.
