The prices of gold and silver in Pakistan have seen the biggest single-day lows, finally falling after reaching record high rates.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola dropped by a record Rs10,600, reaching Rs446,300 in the local market.
The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold stood at Rs382,630, reflecting a decrease of Rs9,088, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold fell to Rs350,756, showing a loss of Rs8,331.
Global gold prices drop
In the international market also, gold prices decreased by $106, reaching $4,252 per ounce.

Market analysts said the appreciation of the US dollar and shifting interest rate expectations have pushed investors towards safe-haven assets like gold.
Silver prices also see fall
Silver price in Pakistan also followed the same trend. The rate of 24-karat silver per tola witnessed a drop of Rs231 to reach Rs5,273, while 10 grams of silver were being sold for Rs4,520.
