Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Thursday as the precious metal climbed to a new all-time high in the local and global markets.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola rose by a massive Rs1,900, reaching Rs442,800 in the local market.
The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold stood at Rs379,629, reflecting an increase of Rs1,629, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold climbed to Rs348,005, showing a gain of Rs1,493.
Global gold prices on rise
In the international market, gold prices increased by $19, reaching $4,217 per ounce. The rise in global prices is attributed to renewed investor interest amid economic uncertainty and currency fluctuations.

Market analysts said the appreciation of the US dollar and shifting interest rate expectations have pushed investors towards safe-haven assets like gold.
Silver prices remain stable
Silver prices, however, did not see any change. The rate of 24-karat silver per tola remained Rs5,337, while 10 grams of silver were being sold for Rs4,575.
