Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Wednesday as the precious metal climbed to a new all-time high in the local and global markets.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola rose by a massive Rs5,800, reaching Rs440,900 in the local market.

The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold stood at Rs378,000, reflecting an increase of Rs4,972, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold climbed to Rs346,512, showing a gain of Rs4,558.
Global gold prices on rise
In the international market, gold prices increased by $58, reaching $4,198 per ounce. The rise in global prices is attributed to renewed investor interest amid economic uncertainty and currency fluctuations.

Market analysts said the appreciation of the US dollar and shifting interest rate expectations have pushed investors towards safe-haven assets like gold.
Silver prices also see uptick
Silver prices also saw an uptick. The rate of 24-karat silver per tola increased by Rs90 to reach Rs5,337, while 10 grams of silver were also being sold for Rs4,575.
